What is it?

This is a complete solution for schools in times of crisis and medical emergencies by handling emergencies on behalf of the schooling institution. In doing so, everyone gets the best treatment and no one can hold the school liable. This product is designed to protect the school’s Liability by ensuring that medical emergencies are handled efficiently, by professionals.

Who is this for?

This is for schools that:

  1. do not want to worry about whether or not a student has medical aid or the financial means to afford a private hospital or ambulance service.
  2. are concerned primarily with how fast a learner can be treated by the best possible medical professional.
  3. want their students to have access to medical emergency services even when they are on a school outing or playing sport at a different school.
  4. would like all medical costs incurred to  stabilize the emergency, up until R100 000, to be covered by a policy.
  5. would like to know that if worst came to worst, there would be a death benefit available.

How does it work?

  1. If a student is injured and the situation becomes an emergency , the staff member/ sports coordinator  presses a panic button on their cell phone.
  2.  This action will send out an SOS to a 24hour Emergency Call Centre (ECC)
  3. All numbers of school staff are pre-registered in the SOS database, the ECC will have immediate access to the following information: School’s name, number and details of staff member who activated emergency;
  4. The ECC will then pick up the cellphone’s GPS co-ordinates and bring up a map of surrounding area.
  5. This map will supply information about surrounding hospital & ambulance groups, as well as other emergency services.
  6. The ECC will contact the staff member back and acquire the student’s name and nature of the emergency.
  7. Once ECC has student’s name, they will have access to all medical information. (I.E allergies, medical aid, etc)
  8. The ECC will then dispatch an ambulance/helicopter if necessary, as well as brief the paramedic of the situation.
  9. The ECC will then contact the closest hospital’s administration department and email student’s details for a guaranteed admission upon arrival. No questions asked. No deposits required.
  10. The next of kin will be contacted with regards to the occurrence and along with the teachers, will have peace of mind knowing that the child is receiving the best possible medical attention.
  11. Standard Cover of R100 000 per child, per medical emergency. **
  12. A full incident report will be e-mailed to the school by the ECC for the schools records.
